Brice Pauset

  • Composer

Brice Pauset began his musical studies by learning the piano, the violin and the harpsichord, before turning to composition. He has a dual career as a composer and performer, playing his own pieces as well as the ancient repertoire on the harpsichord, fortepiano, and modern piano. Sometimes his music involves unexpected performers in the field of music creation, such as Vanités (for countertenor Gérard Lesne and Il Seminario Musicale), Kontra-Sonate (counterpoint to Schubert's Sonata op. 42 (D 845), premiered by Andreas Staier) and Schlag-Kantilene, based on Beethoven's Violin Concerto, premiered by David Grimal and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France conducted by Peter Eötvös (2010)
