Gérard Pesson

After studying literature and musicology at the Sorbonne, then at the Paris Conservatory, Gérard Pesson founded the review Entretemps in 1986. He was a resident at the Villa Médicis from 1990 to 1992. In 2008, the Festival d'Automne à Paris devoted a portrait to him in 19 works, including Rubato ma glissando with Annette Messager, as did the Wittener Tage für neue Kammermusik in 2016 with three concerts, including two premieres.
Four monographs by the Diotima Quartet, Ensemble Cairn, and l'Instant Donné were published in 2018. In 2004 he published extracts from his diary, Cran d'arrêt du beau temps (Ed. Van Dieren). A second volume will be published in 2018.
His opera, Trois Contes,  premiered at the Opéra de Lille in March 2019.
Gérard Pesson has taught composition at the Paris Conservatoire since 2006.
