Maurizio Azzan studied composition with Alessandro Solbiati at the Milan Conservatory, with Frédéric Durieux at the Paris Conservatory, at Ircam and with Salvatore Sciarrino. His works have been performed in various countries by soloists such as Antonio Politano, Marie Ythier, Anna D'Errico, Susanne Fröhlich, Cameron Crozman, as well as by ensembles such as the Ensemble intercontemporain, Divertimento Ensemble, Nieuw Ensemble, mdi ensemble, Proton Bern, Schallfeld Ensemble at festivals such as ManiFeste, Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, Milano Musica, Impuls Graz, Darmstadter Ferienkurse, Time of Music Festival, Budapest Music Center, Teatro La Fenice in Venice.
Since 2014, his works have been published by Suvini Zerboni in Milan.
